Pacific Lutheran University

Pacific Lutheran University is an independent, comprehensive university located in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, just 20 miles south of Seattle. The university was founded in 1890 by Norwegian pioneers, and their values of transparent communication and social responsibility remain core components of the University’s curriculum. The university features undergraduate and graduate programs in the arts and sciences, in addition to professional and pre-professional fields including engineering, nursing, and business. As a liberal arts university, Pacific Lutheran also encourages students to explore interests outside of their major course of study. Whether participating in service-learning courses or interning nights at a nearby community center, Pacific Lutheran’s unique learning culture encourages students to develop holistically. The university offers small class sizes with an average faculty-to-student ratio of 11:1, providing students with ample opportunity to develop personal relationships with their professors outside of the classroom. Pacific Lutheran is a vibrant community of students, professors, and staff, working together towards a common vision of academic excellence, social responsibility, and moral integrity.
