Austin Peay State University is a comprehensive public university located in Clarksville, Tennessee. Established in 1927 as a two-year school, Austin Peay has grown into a comprehensive university that serves the area with more than 10,000 students from 45 states and 50 nations. The university has an impressive 72 bachelor’s, 43 master’s and 5 doctoral degree programs in the Colleges of Arts and Letters, Business, Education, Science and Mathematics, and eight graduate degrees in the School of Nursing and Health Sciences. Austin Peay was named after former Tennessee Governor Austin Peay, who was renowned for his progressive education policies.
