Edinboro University of Pennsylvania is a public university nestled in the foothills of the Allegheny Mountains. It was founded in 1857 as the Edinboro Academy and was one of the first school’s in Pennsylvania to offer a quality education to women. Today the university has grown to nearly 7000 students, with over 50 undergraduate majors, over 20 master’s degrees, and 7 doctoral programs including a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree. The university boasts a wide range of athletics including Division 1 NCAA sports teams and an active club sports scene. Edinboro is also home to one of the top 100 theater programs in the country and an award-winning Gregg Madewell Recording and Computer Production complex. The university is known for its academic excellence and its commitment to community engagement.
