Lees-McRae College

Lees-McRae College is a private four-year college in Banner Elk, North Carolina. Affiliated with the Presbyterian Church and established in 1900, it is the 11th oldest college in the state. The college offers more than 30 undergraduate majors, minors and concentrations, as well as two master’s programs and a Doctor of Physical Therapy. Lees-McRae has a rural, residential campus, located in the Appalachian Mountains, where students have access to hiking, biking, skiing, and other outdoor activities. It is home to the May Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, the Digital Media Program, and many clubs. Students can take part in athletics and numerous other student-run clubs and organizations. Its mission is the development of leadership, character, and service. Lees-McRae College provides students with an individualized, comprehensive liberal arts education and a society of learners dedicated to global citizenship, service to others, and appreciation of Earth’s diversity.
