United States Merchant Marine Academy

The United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) is a prestigious federal service academy that trains and educates individuals to pursue a career in the maritime industry. Located in Kings Point, New York, USMMA provides a world-class education and training program that is focused on the safe and efficient operation of merchant marine vessels and the maintenance and operation of ships and shore-based facilities. In addition to the rigorous academic training they receive, students must also complete four summers of practical sea training and fulfill the US Navy Reserve Officer Program requirements. As a graduate of the USMMA, graduates have the unique ability to serve their country as both a merchant mariner and a commissioned naval officer.
