Alcorn State University

Alcorn State University is an Historically Black College and University, located in Lorman, Mississippi. Established in 1871, Alcorn has long been a center for higher education and research for African Americans in the Mississippi Delta. Today, Alcorn is a comprehensive institution offering undergraduate and graduate degrees in a wide range of academic fields. The university has an enrollment of nearly 5,000 students and more than 180 full-time faculty and staff. Alcorn is home to the prestigious Clarence L. Barney School of Business, which has been nationally ranked since the early 1990s. The school operates through the Division of Academic Affairs, which offers more than 40 areas of study, from business to science and technology.
